DCL Bus Transfers

Disney Cruise Line Terminal
Disney Cruise Line Terminal (more)
Disney Cruise Line, in conjunction with Mears Transportation Group, provides bus transfers to Walt Disney World (for those booking the land/sea packages), to Port Canaveral (for either the airport or Walt Disney World), and to the airport from Port Canaveral. The cost of the transfers varies depending on the number of legs in your journey (if you book the 7-day cruise, for example, you'll likely only ride the bus to the port from the airport, and back, so it will cost you less than if you book the land/sea package which would include an additional leg in your journey, from the airport to Walt Disney World). The buses are clearly Disney, although operated by Mears Transportation Group. They are painted with the logos of the Disney Cruise Line and had an art-deco feel to them. Inside, the seating is luxurious and TV monitors drop down from the ceiling, where passengers are treated to videos regarding their upcoming Disney Cruise Line voyage. If you book your transportation with Disney Cruise Line, a uniformed DCL staffer will meet you at the airport and escort you to the bus pick-up area while other personal gather your luggage for you and arrange to have it delivered either directly to the ship, if you've booked a sea-only vacation, or your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, if you've booked a land/sea vacation.

If you've purchased a land/sea vacation, you will be picked up at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel by the Disney Cruise Line buses on the day of your sailing. The ride to the Disney Cruise Line terminal in Port Canaveral takes about 1 hour and the scheduled pick-up times at the hotels are as follows:

Towncar Service

Some may choose not to wait for the DCL buses (the waits can be long, and the buses make stops at many Walt Disney World Resort hotels). An alternative is towncar service from one of the many fine towncar agencies in the Orlando area. Rates are competitive with those of the DCL bus transfers (especially if there are more than two people in your party) and some agencies will allow you to make a special stop at a grocery store for supplies. A driver will meet you at the airport baggage claim and drive you straight to your Walt Disney World Resort. Arrangements can also be made for service to Port Canaveral, and back to the airport after your cruise. All agencies offer recent model Lincoln Towncars. Some agencies also offer SUVs, mini-vans, limousines, and vans. Here's a link to Yahoo!'s Orlando area limousines and shuttles service page. Contact the various agencies for available services and rates.

Car Rentals

National Car Rental has a car depot at Walt Disney World, as well as an additional service counter at Dolphin Resort. Unfortunately, their nearest service counter to Port Canaveral is in Cocoa Beach.

Shuttles

Should you choose to book a few additional days at Walt Disney World and find yourself arriving at Orlando International Airport on an "off" day (that is, a day when the Disney Cruise Line does not run buses to the airport), you can always hop aboard a Mears shuttle and they will deliever you to your Walt Disney World Resort. You can book your Mears transfers at the airport in Terminal "A", directly across from American Airlines baggage claim, carousel number 5, or Southwest Airlines, carousel number 12; and in Terminal "B", directly across from United Airlines baggage claim, carousel number 8 or Delta Airline baggage claim, carousel number 13. All transportation will depart from Level 1. The counter personnel will direct you to your vehicle. Arrival reservations are encouraged, but are not required.
